I decided after a long break to kick-off with: “Common Project Management Mistakes Don’t Screw Up Your Projects!”

This is no faux pas! If you’ve ever worked for anyone ever in your life, this is your job!

Here’s my thing: I love when I see a company with the resources and strategic goals already in place to make things happen.  I become intrigued.  Why?  Because I see how their next project can catapult them to the next level; and helping them manage it is my mission.

I could list out all the amazing things I have done for small businesses and large corporations, however, I want to tell you what I can do for YOU and YOUR business.

Do you know what one of the main differences between a small business and a major corporation is the employment of a project manager?!

I am here to tell you one main premise: corporations make the same mistakes small businesses make too!

Common Project Management Mistakes

Here’s the list of mistakes I will discuss in 2017:

  1. I think I know what I want.
  2. I’ll do it myself.
  3. There’s no problem I can’t solve because I have the money to solve it.
  4. Just get to work; I know what needs to be done.
  5. I’ll run to stay above the fray or stand back looking at it unravel (this could be a simultaneous event).
  6. Can’t we all just get along?
  7. Build it and they will come.
  8. This project markets itself.  (Number 7 and 8 might seem the same. Ha! Stay tuned.)
  9. I don’t need to survey the audience.
  10.  My coach/mentor will get me through the problems of this project.
  11. My team is strong enough.
  12. Collaborate?  Partners?  Why?
  13. I can just download what I need from the gurus giving free content to get through roadblocks.
  14. Rush, rush, rush…
  15. I have enough resources.
  16. Screw the plan.
  17. The quality will show when the project is done.
  18. I don’t need to engage my team in high-level decisions.

Let me be the first to tell ya… these mistakes are your worst nightmare as a business owner on any level!  Goal-Getter Project Management is trained on how to mitigate these mistakes, and it all starts before the project management plan.
